The Boabom Arts
Boabom is a system of arts, or ways of movement, that exercise the body and mind in various ways. Independently, each develops in its specific direction, while together they complement each other in a complete cycle of movement.
SEAMM-JASANI • GENTLE MOVEMENT • ACTIVE RELAXATION
This Art consists of slow and fluid movements, designed to improve coordination and to build an equilibrium between body and mind. The roots of this Art come from ancient Tibetan traditions for Eternal Youth, as its practice increases health, mental vitality, and longevity, as well as helping to combat depression.
Gentle Boabom is characterized by its combination of relaxation with active movements and breathing forms (Pranayama) in a system that has a rapid and positive impact on the general health of the student.
If you are interested in Gentle Boabom, the book The Secret Art of Seamm-Jasani is available as an introduction to these teachings.
Here is a video teaching the Seamm-Jasani breathing technique, followed by one of eight essential movements:
BOABOM • DEFENSE & ENERGY
Osseous Boabom can be described as “the Art of Self-Healing through Self-Defense.” Progressive in its teaching, this non-contact Art rewards with new movements, stretches, and challenges for as long as the student wishes to learn.
Within this course you will study and practice movements that develop fast reactions, agility, self-control, balance, speed, precise reflexes, spontaneity, breathing (as a method to control your body and mind), concentration, and the projection of internal energies. You will study a precise and extraordinary form of defense that is realized and perfected through an improvised dance, and at the same time is an awakening of your self-confidence and internal force (Mahaprana in Sanskrit).
The movements are taught progressively, as part of a chain in which each new movement is linked to the previous, forming an infinite continuum of thousands of techniques: circular, straight, retracting, rising, etc.
YAANBAO • BOABOM WITH ELEMENTS
In this course, the student learns movements using various implements, such as short staffs, long ones, etc.
Through this Art the student (who has already advanced somewhat in Osseous Boabom) studies the perfection of movement, solidity, and security in both technique and themselves, developing a new set of skills while using these implements as an extension of their own body. Successively, these elements change, both in shape and in length.
