Although classified as one of the martial arts, Boabom and its subsets don’t use any contact and are not competitive, therefore they teach enthusiasts ways to leverage defense tactics without any aggressiveness towards fellow trainees. Students develop by mastering different moves weekly that build on the earlier classes. This martial arts package helps enhance your speed, self-control, breathing, reflexes, agility and balance maintain peace of mind and build your self-confidence as you navigate the challenges of life. You can make the most of our free introductory adult Boabom classes every Saturday and Wednesday.

Longwood Meditation Classes

Meditation is an ancient Indian practice which has more purpose than ever in our stressful and demanding modern day world. Combining breath control and mindfulness practices, meditation is one of the most effective ways to reduce stress and anxiety. Many studies have established that meditation techniques can lower high blood pressure, ward off depression and improve sleep. Youngsters along with adults can benefit from practicing meditation.

You’re able to learn to practice meditation at the Boston School of Boabom. Our seated and still meditations in Longwood unite sound, visualization, imagination and breathing to help in slowing down our often critical inner voice and our racing thoughts. Our excellent teachers lead you through every stage of a mindfulness meditation session, including gradually easing you out of it afterwards. Our many trainees report feeling refreshed, more centered, and ready to face the remainder of their day after a meditation lesson. The meditation approach implemented by Boabom is referred to as “the recycling of the mind” and involves stretching movements to help loosen-up the body and relieve tension in the muscles.

Taking martial arts sessions on the internet also helps you feel a connection with others having the same interests, even though you aren’t standing beside them physically. If you do not have access to a martial arts class that gives instruction in a discipline online, YouTube is a fantastic resource to locate free classes. It might also be a good idea to speak with a local martial arts school to find out if they may be streaming live classes or offering internet programs.

What’s the Difference Between Boabom and Tai Chi?

As Boabom is frequently practiced as an alternative to Tai Chi, one may wonder what is the difference? Both use breathing and physical poses to develop strength, ease stress, and help students to feel more connected to themselves.

One main distinction is that Boabom is still seen as a type of martial art despite the fact that it is largely non-competitive, whilst Tai Chi is primarily a kind of physical exercise, even though one which depends on suppressing the mind and employing special breathing techniques. Boabom’s development was in ancient Tibet while Tai Chi began in China.

Boabom sometimes also includes the use of accessories such as various staffs for executing some of the moves, and giving the practice a bit more of a self defense feel. Boabom has also got subsets such as Seamm-Jasani (also called gentle Boabom) and osseous Boabom (traditional Boabom), while there’s just one sort of Tai Chi.

Boabom Classes vs Yoga Classes – How do They Compare?

Both yoga and Boabom work well at enhancing agility and balance along with reducing anxiety, but how do they really compare? The primary difference is that yoga is not a martial arts technique while Boabom certainly is. Boabom can be taught in lessons as a no-contact, non-competitive martial art, however a number of the actions are still categorized as self defense. Boabom also uses short staffs and other accessories which amplify its beginnings in the martial arts of the past.

Yoga does not come under the umbrella term of self defense, although it does call for very similar breathing exercises and executing a range of movements to release stress and loosen the muscles. There are also many varieties of yoga which vary from basic to more rigorous stretches and routines, and the popular hot yoga. Your own specific preferences will determine if Boabom or yoga is best for you.

Martial Arts Classes for Businesses

Martial arts classes for adults is a winning team building strategy for your personnel that can also help them to combat stress, feel more productive in the workplace and develop mindfulness. It is possible for your work team to attend a martial arts class in person, or participate in one through the use of Zoom. You can also have a martial arts teacher come to your workplace and run classes instead of coordinating a kickboxing, yoga or tai chi session.

There are numerous disciplines of martial arts to consider for your staff. Karate along with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu involve a lot more contact, while Boabom is a non-competitive, no contact martial art. Your team may also want to have a go at a yoga or tai chi session as yet another way to alleviate on-the-job tension.

Business Meditation Classes

Increase productivity and help your staff cope with stress by having them get involved in business meditation lessons. They can join a meditation lesson in-studio or via Zoom, or have a meditation instructor come to your place of work. Learning techniques for meditation can positively affect an employee’s home life, as well as hours spent on the job.
